Catalog: The muse has had it

Women pursue their careers with similar objectives as their male Colleagues. Over 50% of students are female, the highest scientific
authorities, however, hold mostly men. Iris Andraschek installed a huge woman shadow silhoutte, who stretches her
fist highly in protest, in the historic courtyard of the Vienna University, where until now - with one exception - only men
were honored.

A central issue for Andraschek was to tie into the project the voices of women academics, both in the generation of the shadow,
but also as contributors of ideas for the pedestal inscription.

The art project, which is presented in this publication has stimulated discussion about the equality of men and women
at the university and helped to raise awareness for this issue.
